Describe your sailing area, not just your postcode
A boat used for harbour outings can have a different equipment brief from the same boat preparing for coastal passages. Tell the supplier where you normally sail and where you intend to go next. Separate improvements for everyday handling from equipment needed for a changed programme. NSW boating maps provide a starting point for identifying the waterways and local information relevant to that conversation.
Use a loft visit to review the complete sail setup
For a Sydney or Pittwater sail enquiry, bring the boat and rig details, existing sail history and photographs of the handling arrangement. Ask the loft who will measure aboard and whether fitting or a first-use review is included. Use the official loft locator to confirm the current location and service offered before transporting sails or making a booking.
Coordinate work around access to the boat
Tell an electronics installer or engineer where the boat is berthed and how access will be arranged. Ask whether the quote includes travel, commissioning and any yard-dependent work. A supplier’s Australian presence does not confirm that it will attend your berth. Obtain written confirmation of the service area and the exact equipment being supported.
